Learning not only by theory but on practise
All the professors have many things to share with their students. But the most important thing is that they don't learn us only from theories but also by their own behavior in the lectures. They are the teachers we have to be, they inspire us to learn more, to be better first of all for us and for our future students too.
Best life choice so far.
I really enjoyed my time at the Department of Philosophy here at UoC. Being a regional university you get some actual face to face time with the teaching stuff who are very kind and helpful. Moreover, my passion for my field wad nurtured here to such an extent that I can no longer picture myself doing anything else. On the downside the institution suffers from lack of funding and organizing issues but the faculty members are not to blame since they are doing the best they can with what they are given. Overall I would certainly recommend it and am looking forward to come back at some point, hopefully as a member of the teaching staff myself.
Cultural and social environment
The University of Crete offers a unique academic experience, blending rigorous coursework with a strong cultural and social environment. I study maths, and the programs structure encourages critical thinking and creativity. The professors are passionate and always open to discussions, making classes engaging. The campus, surrounded by Cretes natural beauty, provides a peaceful setting for studying and reflection. What Ive appreciated most is the sense of community among studentstheres always someone ready to help or collaborate. While the public transport system could be better, the universitys vibrant culture and academic quality make it a great choice.
