Clinical Psychology at Barry University is designed to prepare you for continuing graduate education and careers in the area of mental health.

The Clinical Psychology program at Barry University will provide you with quality academic instruction, research experience, and supervised clinical training at a variety of mental health centers. At Barry University, we focus on training students to master the traditional clinical skills of evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment. The theoretical orientation of the program is eclectic.

Mission Statement

The overall mission of the Master of Science degree program in Clinical Psychology is to educate students using the scientist/practitioner model of training with faculty actively involved in research and clinical practice. This offers students the opportunity to obtain the theoretical, scientific, technical, and personal experience necessary to enter into the practice of mental health evaluation and treatment of diverse populations with appropriate guidance and supervision or to enter into doctoral-level training. Training is provided in an environment that promotes knowledge of the discipline, basic clinical skills, and the establishment of an identity as a professional in the field of psychology.

General requirements

Most programs require a $30 nonrefundable application fee. This fee is waived for Barry alumni or those referred by Barry alumni.

You must submit complete official transcripts from every college or university attended, regardless of whether or not a degree was completed. If you previously attended Barry University, you do not need to re-submit any transcripts already on file.

Submit a statement of purpose (goals) or career narrative statement as required by the specific school.

Provide the required recommendations in support of graduate study.

Supply current admission entrance examination scores (EAT, GMAT, GRE, LSAT, MAT, MCAT), as required by the individual school or program. In general, test scores older than five years will not be accepted.
