Overview
You can focus on Geography or Geology, and you can also choose from thesis or non-thesis options. All Fort Hays State University students must complete 30 hours of graduate-level courses. Thesis Geosciences students will use thesis credit hours to reach 30 total hours.

Geologists are often involved in research work at various research institutes, museums and universities.Geography: Because almost any issue can be examined from a geographical perspective (marketing, crime, health, conservation, education, politics, tourism, retailing, social services, etc.), a geography degree will prepare you for an exciting career in dozens of fields.GIS: Skilled GIS experts are in great demand in business, government, and science. Job growth in GIS is expected to be among the highest of all fields over the coming decade, and starting salaries are above average.

- Submit an Application for Graduate Admission at the appropriate website.
- Pay the $40 domestic application fee or $50 international application fee.
- Provide the Graduate School with an official bachelor's degree transcript and master's degree transcript (if applicable) from a regionally accredited institution.
- For institutions outside the United States and Canada, a World Education Service (WES) International Course-by-Course Transcript Evaluation is required for translation.
- A personal statement or statement of purpose (i.e., What are your career goals and how will the FHSU graduate program help you achieve those?)
- Two letters of recommendation
- GRE not required
