The Seattle University Mechanical Engineering program will prepare you with the advanced knowledge base you need to advance your career.

The MSME program was developed by the faculty of the Mechanical Engineering Department and the Industry Advisory Board. The program is a blend of a purely technical degree and a management-focused degree.

The mission of the Mechanical Engineering Department is to provide a technically rigorous, design-focused education in a collaborative environment that emphasizes individual attention and connections to industry, while preparing students to help create a more just and humane world.

The program is designed to be attractive to professionals who are looking to move into technical management positions and need advanced training to achieve their career goals, as well as to the new graduates with bachelor’s degrees.

The MSME program is designed to accommodate full-time students as well as working professionals, offering evening-only class options to accommodate full-time workers.

Completed Application for Graduate Admission

A four-year baccalaureate degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline

Transcripts of all post-secondary education institutions attended in the last 90 quarter/60 semester credits of the bachelor’s degree

Letter of intent discussing background, interests, and reasons for wanting to pursue a master’s degree in mechanical engineering (1-2 pages).

CV or Resume summarizing academic and related work experience, if any, and contact information for two references.
International students are required to submit additional materials in order to have their applications evaluated.
