Key Features

The energy industry is an important cornerstone of the regional economy, and a number of Portland State's master’s degree graduates are active in the industry. For a number of years, several PSU departments have offered graduate courses focusing on energy issues and techniques for energy analysis.

The Energy Policy and Management Postgraduate Certificate from Portland State University brings these classes together in a program designed to create a foundation of knowledge about the energy industry.

Career

The Graduate Certificate in Energy Policy and Management is targeted to three types of students:

Industry Professionals: employees working in the energy industry who wish to broaden their training, acquire specific skills, and/or increase their knowledge of current issues in energy policy and management.
Graduate Students: PSU graduate students who enrolled in a PSU graduate degree program and wish to add energy policy and management expertise to their course of study.
Prospective Employees: industry employees who wish to gain knowledge and skills that will enhance their employment prospects.

General requirements

To be considered for regular admission, applicants must have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or the equivalent (on the U.S. 4.0 scale) from the degree granting institution(s). Applicants who have earned 9 or more letter-graded graduate credits must have a minimum graduate GPA of 3.0 or the equivalent; this graduate GPA supersedes the undergraduate GPA.
