Overview

Candidates of the Educational Technology program at Missouri State University include those interested in becoming technology coaches, specialists, or technology coordinators; school library media specialists; classroom teachers who wish to improve their technology skills; and individuals from higher education, medical, corporate, or other professional fields.

Learning outcomes for the educational technology program

Graduates will plan, develop, communicate, implement, and evaluate technology-infused strategic plans.
Graduates will use technology effectively to assess learning, differentiate instruction, and provide rigorous, relevant, and engaging learning experiences.
Graduates will maintain and manage a variety of digital tools and resources for use in technology-rich learning environment.
Graduates will design, develop, and implement technology-rich learning program that model principles of learning and promote digital age best practices in teaching, learning and assessment.
Graduates will demonstrate professional knowledge and skills in content pedagogical and technological areas.

General requirements

A bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by agencies recognized by Missouri State University. In cases where a program’s accrediting body allows admission prior to conferral of bachelor’s degree, exceptions may be made, AND a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.75 on a 4.00 scale; OR at least a 2.75 grade point average on a 4.00 scale for the last 60 hours of academic course work; OR at least a 2.75 grade point average on a minimum of 9 hours of graduate credits.
