Overview

Upon completion of the Dual Language Teacher Leadership program from Roosevelt University, candidates will be eligible to add both the Bilingual/ESL and Teacher Leader endorsements to their Illinois teaching license.

The Dual Language Teacher Leadership graduate program has been awarded a five-year $2.3 million dollar grant by the US Department of Education.

Standards

Teachers who complete this degree have the ability to implement dual language programs in their school or district — an in-demand skill set in an ever more diverse educational system. The program is the only one of its kind in Illinois.

Students can expect focused and practical assignments, engaging discussion and small group projects, and multiple opportunities for the completion of field experiences and projects. A practicum that involves guided teaching in a Spanish Saturday School culminates the program.
