Program Details

University of Virginia’s M.S. in Business Analytics (MSBA) prepares working professionals to lead in a data- and AI-driven world. With a project-driven curriculum led by Darden School of Business and McIntire School of Commerce faculty, students gain hands-on experience in applied AI, business analytics, and strategy. The result: graduates ready to deliver real business value and move their careers forward.

Offered in partnership by the UVA Darden School of Business and the McIntire School of Commerce, the M.S. in Business Analytics Program is designed to put working professionals at the intersection of business and analytics. The applied, project-based learning enables students to build their analytics and business skills within real-world scenarios and data and learn how to communicate insights.

Have a conferred bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university (The M.S. in Business Analytics accepts students from a wide range of undergraduate majors and professional backgrounds.)
Have a minimum of two years of professional work experience (post-bachelor’s degree) by the program’s first day of class
Show evidence of strong problem-solving and analytical skills through a combination of academic background, work experience, and optional GMAT, GRE or Executive Assessment test scores.
Academic strengths as demonstrated by a combination of undergraduate coursework, optional standardized test scores, and, if applicable, graduate coursework
Qualities of character (e.g., motivation, maturity, tenacity, integrity, ability to work well with others, self-reliance, and leadership)
Evidence of strong written and oral communication skills
