Overview

Post University's Education program is grounded in the identification, evaluation, and application of research-based education practices. In your core classes, you will develop a vision for the future of education through an analysis of the issues and changes in both education and technology; apply principles of cognitive science; use metrics to measure student, programmatic and institutional achievement; and identify and use relevant technology in the service of better learning. Additionally, each student identifies an area of concentration and course work from the following: Curriculum and Instruction; Educational Technology; Learning Design and Technology; Online Teaching; or Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

Technology is a critical component of this program, and you will create your Personal Learning Environment to compile and share what you learn in a digital portfolio. Studies for your master’s degree in education conclude with a three-credit capstone in which you will complete an action-research project aimed at solving a real-world problem of practice.

What Can You Do With a Graduate Degree in Education?

Once you’ve completed your online master’s in education, you’ll have the skills you need to use different theories of instruction, learning, and curriculum and apply them to relevant educational contexts. You’ll be more effective as you integrate technology into your teaching. You’ll learn how to establish inclusive learning communities that are collaborative to supportive. And you’ll be able to examine and interpret a variety of educational data, resources, and research to support and inform decision-making practices.

These are the skills—and this is the credential—you’ll need to pursue any number of next-level education career options. Depending on your desired concentration, you could pursue advancement opportunities as a curriculum developer, educational consultant, post-secondary instructor, corporate trainer, digital learning specialist, and more.
