Overview

In as few as 26 months, you can complete your Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Post University and be prepared to advance to administrative, managerial or supervisory public administration careers in state, federal and local government, as well as nonprofit, private and non-governmental organizations. Through our online course format, you can continue your work helping others while you earn your graduate public administration degree.

This program is also an excellent option for legal studies, human services, emergency management and homeland security, and criminal justice undergraduate degree holders to fulfill their potential in their field.

Program Highlights

Our Master’s in Public Administration online degree program includes a unique combination of graduate-level business and public administration courses that enhance your executive administration skills. These are skills that can be applied to your current organization right away or transferred to an advanced position in higher education, health care administration, and traditional public service organizations.

Through practical coursework for your online MPA degree, you will learn to perform in a leadership role in government and public-minded organizations. You’ll discover how to analyze public policy—it’s formulation, interactions, implications, and avenues of impact. You’ll know what it takes to demonstrate ethical leadership and management practices. You’ll cover the finance issues for public and nonprofit operations, research-based public administration practices, and the consolidation of underperforming or obsolete programs and services.

Your online MPA studies will conclude with a capstone project, which is a research and data based applied policy plan to be completed over the duration of Capstone Part I and Capstone Part II. In Capstone I, students begin the background research necessary for their Implementation Plan, and Capstone II continues the project through to completion, presentation, and defense.  The written portion of a successful policy plan will include, at a minimum, an executive summary, introduction, policy overview and background, plan of implementation, financial plan, plan of evaluation, and a conclusion.
