Through this program of study you will develop the ability to be a leader in literacy and an advocate for all learners.
Our reading instructors are trained in Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS), and the program is approved and recommended by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) for all educator preparation programs and current teachers.The Graduate Certificate in Dyslexia is automatically a part of the MA in Reading program. The student will earn both the MA and GCRT, will be qualified by DESE to be a reading specialist, and can apply to CERI for the dyslexia certification.The Graduate Certificate in Dyslexia can also be pursued on its own.
