The new MS in Business Analytics is intended to address the growing element of the discipline with more emphasis on operations since it focuses upon the business operations area of the discipline, and less on the science and math modeling of the data. An analogy with IT is a computer science degree with specific focus on software and the related degree of MIS with its focus on the spectrum of IT Business Systems (networks, hardware, customer support, procurement, etc.).

Undergraduate Background Requirements for the Program

To be eligible for the MS in Business Analytics program, students must have either:

Earned an undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Statistics or Economics, OR

Completed college-level Algebra and Statistics in the last five years with a B or better in both courses

Have work experience that includes business, marketing, database and analytics (business or marketing background is preferred)
