Overview
In a world dependent on technology, computer systems professionals play a key role in meeting strategic goals. The information systems management concentration deals with managing information as a strategic corporate asset and resource. Students learn the technical knowledge and tools needed to integrate people, hardware, software and data for optimal planning, decision making and problem solving. The curriculum is designed to empower leaders with an understanding of how information systems can be used to achieve a corporation's mission and vision.
The SAP Advantage.
The German company SAP is the global market leader in ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems. About 90 percent of Fortune 500 and international companies employ SAP's main information systems infrastructure platform to operate their businesses through a unified system. The Sykes College of Business joined the SAP University Alliance in 2008, integrating SAP into the business curriculum. Several professors at UT incorporate SAP training into their courses as a tool for simulating real business scenarios. Students and faculty also have access to the SAP community, enabling interaction with industry professionals and professors at universities worldwide.
