Overview

The emphases of the Athletic Training curriculum are: evidence based practice, risk management and injury prevention, pathology of injuries and illnesses, acute care of injuries and illnesses, pharmacology, therapeutic modalities, therapeutic exercise, general medical conditions and disabilities, nutritional aspects of injuries and illnesses, psychosocial intervention and referral, healthcare administration, and professional development and responsibilities. Students are given opportunities to gain knowledge and skills needed to pass the certification exam of the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Training.

Early Entry Program

Exceptional undergraduate students at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte may apply for the Early Entry Program and begin work toward the graduate degree before completion of the baccalaureate degree.
