About the Program

The Health Administration and Health Informatics and Analytics Dual Degree program of The University of North Carolina at Charlotte develops healthcare leaders prepared to advance health equity and well-being in an urbanizing world.

We pursue our mission through education, research, and service that:

Gives students the knowledge, skills, and values needed to lead dynamic health systems.

Creates knowledge needed to lead people and organizations providing health services.

Increases the diversity of health services leaders, with a special emphasis on individuals and groups historically underrepresented in graduate education.

Promotes the public's health.

The Master of Health Administration (MHA) program at UNC Charlotte is an interdisciplinary program designed for administrators in a changing health care environment.

Attentive to the specific needs of our students, the program addresses the academic and professional expectations of those seeking to establish careers in the field as well as those currently employed in health care administration.
Our graduates demonstrate competence across the core health administration domains of leadership, critical thinking, health administration sciences, and quantitative analysis, management, political and community stakeholder development, and communication.

General requirements

Applicants to the MHA program are expected to convey their demonstrated and potential capacity for verbal, quantitative and analytical reasoning through their transcripts, statement of purpose, and letters of recommendation. Applicants should consider potential gaps in such evidence when preparing their statements and soliciting letters of recommendation.

Applicants must provide transcripts from all institutions attended. Applicants may upload unofficial transcripts for review purposes, but offers of admissions will be contingent upon receipt of official transcripts

Three letters of recommendation must be submitted from persons who can reflect upon the applicant's prior academic and/or professional performance and capability for serving as a health care administrator

The applicant must provide a career goal statement and a current resume

International students are required to submit proof of English language proficiency
