Overview

A goal of this Cybersecurity and Operations curriculum at University of New Orleans is to align educational outcomes with the national standard for the cybersecurity workforce—the NICE Cybersecurity Workforce Framework developed by NIST.

Key Facts

The framework defines categories, specialty areas, work roles, knowledge, skills & abilities (KSAs), tasks, and competencies, as they relate to the professional requirements of cybersecurity work.

As a result, upon graduation, alumni will be demonstrably qualified to fill cybersecurity-related jobs in the workforce.

Learning Outcomes

Students will demonstrate conceptual understanding of the cyber domain with respect to technology, threats, actors and risk.
Students will demonstrate understanding of the essential legal and ethical code of conduct requirements for cyber professionals.
Students will demonstrate essential-to-intermediate hands-on cyber skills in cyber defense and operations.
Students will demonstrate practical skills working in small teams to accomplish cyber defense and operations tasks.
Students will demonstrate effective written presentation skills to produce effective informative reports of cyber engagements to management and IT personnel.
