The Engineering Management program of The University of North Carolina at Charlotte attracts a diverse group of professionals seeking to enhance their management skills and gain an edge on the competition in our job market.

UNC Charlotte's Masters of Science in Engineering Management (MSEM) degree is a technical alternative to the MBA. The program is multidisciplinary, combining elements of advanced study in various engineering disciplines with studies of business and system operations and organizational behavior. The MSEM program prepares professionals for careers in managing projects, programs, systems, and organizations.

Either a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a closely related technical or scientific field, or a bachelor’s degree in business, provided relevant technical course requirements have been met

Undergraduate coursework in engineering economics, calculus, and statistics

An average grade of 3.0 (out of 4)

Upload a Statement of Purpose in the online application outlining goals for pursuing graduate education

Three recommendations are required. Enter the names and contact information including email addresses in the online application

In the online application Academic Background section you can upload an unofficial transcript from each institution attended in the college section

Provide standardized test scores: Graduate Record Exam (GRE), or Miller Analogies Test (MAT)

GRE can be waived for applicants with more than 2 years of relevant industry experience AND a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-EAC accredited program
