The Department of History at University of Florida is a dynamic community of scholars engaged in individual and collaborative historical research in all eras and covering nearly all parts of the world.

Key Facts

The Department of History offers the following graduate degrees: Master of Arts with fields of specialization in African, European, Latin American, and United States history, and the Doctor of Philosophy with fields of specialization in African, European, Latin American, and United States history.

The course offers minor concentrations in the thematic fields of Atlantic, Gender, Legal, Religious, and World History. Students interested in transnational and comparative work may also create their own dual major. In addition to materials required by the Graduate School for admission, applicants must send directly to the History Department the following evidence of aptitude and interest:
